Windows DDE Display Engine

ProtoLink developed a Screen Display Engine which allows non-programmers to create complex screens consisting of control elements which communicate with remote processes via the Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE) protocol.

ProtoLink developed a Microsoft Windows Screen Display Engine which allows non-programmers to create complex screens consisting of control elements which may logically constrain one another and may communicate with remote processes via the Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE) protocol.  The power of the Display Engine is fully extensible through the use of Dynamic Link Libraries (DLLs).

We also developed a related Microsoft Windows application to add value to a supervisory control and data acquisition system built around the Wonderware Corporation’s InTouch package.  This program allows the InTouch user to retrieve, edit, and send blocks of data to a remote database and to remote telemetry units (RTUs).  The application, which is transparent to the user, enables the push of a button in the InTouch package to invoke a complex series of data transfers between the database and Display Engine screens which allow the user to edit the data.
